Study Buddies

University has always been something I’ve really wanted to tackle. I love learning, a good challenge and always felt it was an experience worth living. This last fall I took the plunge and headed into the start of pursuing a degree in social work. The kids have been really amazing and supportive although occasionally annoyed when they would rather have their mother racing them in a game of Mario Cart or hanging out in the kitchen making some cinnamon buns. Instead we spend more time hanging out in the office surrounded by books.

I joke that the office door seems at times like a revolving door, opening faster than it closes with endless questions from the important “Mom, can I go to a friends house? “ to the right out there in left field type questions like “Mom?!?!?! , if you were a potato chip, what flavour would you be? “ But the truth is I love having them hang out while I work, and hope that my choices help them make their own choices and take chances as they grow up too.

This is a pretty big part of life these days….although if we are being honest photographing this 30 minutes might be the least productive study session yet haha.

Thanks so much for following along on this little journey of a brief snap shot of our life. Next up in the 30 minute blog circle is Sharleen .
